Making a Visitor-Friendly Farm Site Experience
Urban Hijau is a sustainable one acre urban farm located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. As a social enterprise, Urban Hijau is dedicated in using the principles of permaculture (natural ecological design) to spur a movement in Malaysia towards urban sustainability in food production, waste management and general living.
Novel Kitchen Equipment Innovation
To develop and market a new or improved kitchen equipment. Need the Culinary institute to identify the need, i.e. what are some things they wish they could have but no one has ever created one. Engineering to design, build and test the equipment. Design School to make it aesthetically pleasing and Business school to develop the market strategy.
Designing a Mobile Application for E-Logbook
Taylor’s University, School of Medicine is home to medical students who wish to become knowledgeable medical doctors with a heart for healing the sick and the dedication to elevate the medical profession. The school has been using the paper-based logbook system from the beginning until now. Every semester considerable amount of paper has been used to prepare the logbook. The paper-based logbook has certain limitations especially during online teaching.
Mitigate Fake News on Social Media
In today’s age of technological innovation, we embrace change every day by integrating and synergizing with disruptive and exponential digital technologies. In the coming age of Technological Singularity, the cyber arms race of powerful algorithms has become a significant battlefront among countries. For the survival of human race, a transparent, trustable and reliable technology is very important. The advanced and common use of social media has enabled easy access and rapid dissemination of information. This on the other hand also enables fake news to be spread extensively.
Redefining Vegetarian School Meal
Public events (exhibitions and roadshows) that involve school, parents and other partners at public venues played an important role in promoting food education awareness. For example: using parent-teacher conferences as a platform to built-in audiences with nutrition tips and healthy vegetarian meals; newsletter to create a wellness-focused campaign to promote healthy eating and physical activity among families and promote healthy food options and garner enthusiasm through food tasting. It is important to find out effective event kits whereby it can be applied across public events and sustainable to support food education in future.
Care Shelter Kuala Lumpur
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the MCO and restrictions of travel / tourism, many hotels and hospitality businesses have closed down in Malaysia. At the same time, many people in Malaysia are struggling financially; cases of eviction and termination have been on a sharp rise.
Developing a Sanitiser kit
During this COVID-19 pandemic, use of hand sanitisers has become a necessity in households and public places. Hand sanitisers have been used much more frequently than before to kill the viruses. However, excessive use of these sanitisers can lead to a few side effects: irritation and drying of skin, dermatitis, ocular irritation and conjunctivitis, and importantly, the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria. The latter is a huge concern, as these bacteria can cause life-threatening infections and some cannot be treated with existing antibiotics.
Establishing a Workout Programme
Workout programmes mainly present themselves as downloadable applications created by specific fitness trainers or are posted on video-sharing platforms like YouTube. Programmes offered through fitness trainer applications only provide the videos and guidance of that particular trainer and may not be comprehensive enough to tailor for all user needs, whereas the programmes posted on YouTube do not often have extensive workout categories and usually focuses on popular search requests only, leaving less popular videos at the bottom of the search results page. This may cause feelings of confusion or frustration for some users that are unable to find suitable workout videos.
Designing a Drive-thru Kopitiam
The traditional coffee shops, or fondly known as Kopitiams, have always been the popular, “close-to-home” feel, simple, no-frills eating places among the locals especially for a decent breakfast or meal. Due to the restricted movement control and the risk of contracting corona virus, people are starting to miss the simple, no-frills yet tasty traditional food served by the kopitiams. Online food delivery services have yet to be able to deliver the authentic flavor of the traditional food and coffee.
